Online Traffic is like fuel to your car, without it you will not move. Online traffic is so important because it is the measure of success, however its expense is increasing, espcially for those who offer a unique product or service. Marketing online is useless if you are not able to connect to your prospects.

Marketing your website is important if you want it to expand beyond its current size and reach. Target traffic is the goal of anyone marketing online. Write 10 articles about your web sites main topics. Send each of these articles to at least 100 different article directories online. Include an anchor text link in each of the articles with your web sie main keyword as the text in the anchor link. Write compelling articles about your service, or product.

The root of all this free traffic generation is in maximizing your natural search engine rankings so that your web site comes up in the top ten rankings for your main keyword, and then the search engines send you free traffic. Make sure your web site is at least minimally optimized for the search engines, for example, use your main keyword in the title, in your keywords, and at least a few times throughout the web site. Search engine optimization (SEO) is an art as well as a science. One of the biggest challenges in search engine marketing today is getting enough visitors to your website. Another alternative you might want to consider is PPC search engines. They let you actually bid on how much you would like to pay for each click, and sometimes your listings might appear above the regular & organic listings in the major search engines.

Online traffic is useless unless your website content is able to connect with visitors. Unfortunately that saying is true, because online traffic is a euphemism (translates) for visitors. The single most influential factor over the quality of your online traffic is your web content. Know where your online traffic is originating from-and get more of it.
