Squeeze pages or reseller pages are simple, effective and short web pages that have just one objective – to build your opt-in list and, optionally redirect the visitor to one of your own sales page or an affiliate page. Squeeze pages, if done properly, is a great way to capture your visitors name and email address BEFORE they are shown (or redirected to) the actual sales message.

Offer an incentive – Give them a reason to opt in. Offer a free gift when they sign up, but make sure the gift is something valuable that they will really want and that they cannot get anywhere else. More the value, higher will be your opt-in rate. Do not just throw away something you downloaded years ago that nobody is interested in. Offer something new and exciting. Special reports work very well.

Follow through on what you say – Make sure that when you say something that you can back it up. If you say you will only send one email per month then only send one email per month. If you do not follow through then you will lose their confidence and likely their subscription to your list. Tell in advance what they will get by subscribing to your list. Also tell them what they are going to lose if they unsubscribe in every email you send. People cannot stand losing anything, even if they do not want that thing.

Build customer confidence – Use your squeeze page to help give your customers confidence in you. You want to make sure that you make them feel at ease with you and that they feel like they can trust in you and your product. If possible, add a couple of genuine customer testimonials to your squeeze page. They are effective.

Avoid being too flashy – Do not try to attract with flashy designs and style. That is actually distracting and takes a lot of time to download into your visitors’ browser. You will want to avoid anything that can distract from your core message and goal.

Make your headline grab attention – The headline is one of the most important factors of your page. It needs to be exciting so that a visitor will want to continue reading. In other words, your headline is an ad for the rest of your content. Take time and develop a powerful and hypnotic headline that makes the reader continue to read the rest of your copy and ultimately signup to your opt-in list.

Keep it simple – Do not make your page more complex than it has to be. Be upfront and straight forward. Avoid any extravagance and just keep it neat and easy to read. The content should be written typically to a high-school student. Use short sentences and many paragraphs. Bullet points are very effective in highlighting the most important points and enhances the look and feel of your squeeze page.

State the purpose – Make sure that the visitor knows that point of this page. State it right away. Let them know what they will be getting. This is also known as “call to action”. Mention what you want your visitors to do when they come to your squeeze page. Do you want them to provide their name and email? Click a link? Call a phone number? Send you a fax? Tell them.

Write For People Search Engine visitors are there to find information. So, write your content keeping the reader in mind. Gone are the days of fooling the search engines with doorway pages and other black-hat stuff.Provide quality content and shoot up to the top of the results page quickly.

Meta tags Use Meta tags. They are the invisible tags and the search engines can identify them for categorization of content. Do not stuff your meta data with keywords. Use your commonsense and put whatever is necessary.

Heading tag Bold text and headlines on your web page should always be enclosed between H1 and H2 tags. This enables the search engines to decipher your content properly and give weightage to proper keywords. This will help in indexing too.

Site map Help the search engine spiders to navigate your website quickly and easily by providing a relevant and updated sitemap.

Keywords Use keywords in the articles and make them bold. But don’t overdo this; it is really a big put-off! Find out which keywords your website visitors are like to be searching for and use in your text, anchor text, body copy and image alt tags.

External links Skyrocket to the top of the search engine results page by securing high quality back links from other websites that are RELATED to your topic. Instead of getting the linking back to your home page, try to get them to your article or content pages with a proper keyword as the anchor text.
