How To Appear on The First Page of Seach Engine Results
For many people SEO is like a Bengal Tiger. Wild, and very difficult to tame. This is because the search engines regularly change their algorithms in order to provide better experience to THEIR visitors.
Out of the hundreds of techniques that may or may not work, here are a few that always produces great results.
Regular Updates Make sure that you update your website regularly, since the search engines always favor those sites which are always up-to-date. Nobody wants stale content.
Write For People Search Engine visitors are there to find information. So, write your content keeping the reader in mind. Gone are the days of fooling the search engines with doorway pages and other black-hat stuff.Provide quality content and shoot up to the top of the results page quickly.
Meta tags Use Meta tags. They are the invisible tags and the search engines can identify them for categorization of content. Do not stuff your meta data with keywords. Use your commonsense and put whatever is necessary.
Heading tag Bold text and headlines on your web page should always be enclosed between H1 and H2 tags. This enables the search engines to decipher your content properly and give weightage to proper keywords. This will help in indexing too.
Site map Help the search engine spiders to navigate your website quickly and easily by providing a relevant and updated sitemap.
Keywords Use keywords in the articles and make them bold. But don’t overdo this; it is really a big put-off! Find out which keywords your website visitors are like to be searching for and use in your text, anchor text, body copy and image alt tags.
External links Skyrocket to the top of the search engine results page by securing high quality back links from other websites that are RELATED to your topic. Instead of getting the linking back to your home page, try to get them to your article or content pages with a proper keyword as the anchor text.
