Massive Traffic — Ensuring A High Rank
You can’t really be serious about getting massive free traffic from the search engines if you do NOT appear on the first page of search results. And how do you rank high for your chosen keywords?
There are many things you have to do like ensuring you have the right density of keywords on your page, having your keywords in your meta description tag, title, images and so on. However, of all known steps to high ranking, building your link popularity is the most important. Here are tops ways to get high quality links…
1. Perhaps one of the best and easiest ways is submitting articles to article directories. These sites have been around for some time and have built search engine love. Best of all, all it will cost you are the time and effort in writing and submitting your article.
The strongest advantage of article submission, from a link-building point of view, is that you determine your anchor text. You decide what your anchor text says and this means that you decide which keywords you get ranked for.
Now, some people think that they can submit just a few articles and have first page ranking. While this may happen in some low competition niches, you’ll need to submit many articles to reap the rewards. The more competitive your niche is, the more articles you’ll have to submit.
Just make sure you have the right tools for this or you’ll be wasting your time and money. Some services help you submit unique versions of each article to each article directory. This increases the effectiveness of your efforts and gets you as many as 500 to 1,000 permanent links for each article you submit through them.
2. Start blogging on similar themes to your main website niche. All you’ll then do is link to your site each time you make a post.
This is a good way for you to have as many webpages as you can without spending much. It will only take you just a few minutes to start your own blog. Visit sites like wordpress.com or blogger.com to start yours for free.
Another way of building your link popularity with blogs is by making useful comments on blogs that have a high page rank and then linking back to your site. Just make sure you comment on blogs that do NOT use the “no follow” tag.
3. Make sure you bookmark your articles on sites like digg.com and del.icio.us. Also give your visitors the opportunity of bookmarking your articles. These are quality links to your site.
What happens when others see your pages on their bookmarks and visit? They might also add you to their bookmarks if they like what they read. These will go a long way in getting you high quality links from these highly respected sites.
4. You certainly shouldn’t forget web directories as you do your link building. They are very important for your link-building success.
Dmoz is certainly one of the most important directories. However, it does take such a long time for your site to be included. But while you’re advised to submit your site for review there, don’t stop there.
You’ll get a bigger rank boost from the established and respected directories. But that said, links from good niche directories will also give you links that will add up in your favor.
You can make your work a lot easier by using a directory submission service or software. It’s up to you to decide what your time is worth and how much such a tool or service will save you.
5. Search for forums in your niche. Visit them and post useful comments (of course with a link to your site). Make sure you add value to these forums and you’ll get the most out of this strategy.
Although we’ve touched many ways to build links to your site, they are NOT the only ways. But just bear in mind why you’re building links: It’s to drive massive free and residual targeted traffic to your site.
